A charming 19th century watercolour of large size of Dolly, a well loved spaniel, shown dozing on a plump tasselled cushion, a composition very popular in this period.

In pencil, ink and watercolour, this artist had talent, and worked quickly with fluidity.

Signed J Gulstow or Galstow and dated 1852.

On a contemporary backing paper and under glass and in a period velvet frame.
