A near pair of charming foil backed reverse glass paintings of a peacock and peahen amongst flowers.
In original simple narrow conforming wooden frames, with slight remnants of gilding.
The main element in these paintings, which is in this case are the birds, were outlined in black paint on the reverse of glass, the other colours being loosely painted in translucent colours
through which the silver foil backing shines through.
Overall size: 9.5" x 8", 24.5 x 20cm (the peahen 9.5" x 7.75")
