A charming water and body colour pierhead painting of the
SS Port Darwin in rough coastal seas.
The Port Darwin was built in Newcastle in 1884 and ran aground and wrecked in 1905.
Really good strong colours with masses of dynamic movement.
In it's original maple frame (a little damage at the outer edge of corners), original glass and mount. With a new acid free backing
In great unfaded colour with just a few 'age spots'.
Sight ex mount: 20.5" x 14" (52cm x 36cm)
Frame: 27.5” x 20.25" (70cm x 51cm)
