Sailors Woolwork or Woolie mid 19th century

An English folk art sailors woolwork of 3 masted frigate sailing under both sail and steam, on an interestingly depicted choppy sea.

The stitching, colour and rigging are all in very good condition.

The woolie is framed in its original and unusual 'faux' or hand painted rosewood frame and slip.  The glass is a replacement. Some age related wear and tear to the extremities of the frame.

Frame:  24" x 19"   ( 61cm x 48cm)
