A charming naive needlework of a trotting black horse depicted in coloured beadwork.
Purchased from the same source as the white horse needlework ref 641. I have not examined this piece out of the frame, but in terms of stitching and of course the motif they
could be by the same hand and hence probably American. c.1870.
Housed in a pretty maple frame with age related wear in places.
The stitching is in good condition.
