Naive 19th century French Silkwork of a Sailing Ship
A pretty and naive French silkwork of a ship flying French naval flags. Very pretty and unsophisticated, delicately stitched in a naive manner in brightly coloured silks, which are still
overall in very good condition.
The base is a fine linen which has mellowed to a lovely rich tan colour. There is an historic snag in the linen top right hand area.
Mid 19th century. On original stretcher. In later oak frame and slip. Under glass.
