A naive and folky oil of a picture restorer in his workshop.
Signed M H King both on the reverse and bottom left along the base of the painting resting in front of the chest.
Maurice H King, was I believe a restorer (presumably a picture restorer) who worked in Hastings in East Sussex in the mid 20th century.
He obviously had talent as an artist and he either gave away his paintings or sold them for a small fee.
Painted on ply which I suspect may have been a painters oil palette.
