A naive watercolour of children playing in the countryside.

The boy holds a mallet in his right hand and a chisel in his right as he carves into a block of wood.  The girl carrying a doll feeds a rather serious looking bird with seed from her hand.

 

Mid 19th century, English.  Watercolour, pencil and crayon

 

In its original stained wood  frame (a little marked), and under original glass.
